Palace v Newcastle United live: score, updates and line-ups

Full time at Selhurst Park: Newcastle United see out a 2-0 win. Osula's close-range finish from Murphy's cross just after the break put the visitors ahead against the run of play, before Barnes doubled the lead from Dedic's assist. Palace dominated possession and corners throughout and threw men forward late on, with Nketiah heading wide from a corner deep into stoppage time, but Horníček's goal stood firm to the end. A professional, clinical display from Newcastle condemns Palace to a home defeat despite their territorial dominance.

Into stoppage time at Selhurst Park and Palace continue to push for a way back, winning further corners through Osorio's blocked effort and Pino's attempt from the resulting set-piece, but Newcastle's defence has held firm. Palace edge the shot count 15-10 and have four corners to Newcastle's... sorry, six to four overall, yet Horníček's goal has stayed intact since the second-half strikes from Osula and Barnes. With six added minutes underway, it looks set to finish 2-0 to Newcastle unless Palace can find a late breakthrough.

Palace have pushed hard to find a way back into it but can't beat Horníček, who denied Wharton and then Osorio with good stops either side of a string of corners. Despite Newcastle leading the possession and shots-on-target stats, it's Palace who've had the better of the ball territorially in this spell, winning three corners in the last ten minutes without managing to make one count - Disasi's header the closest they came. Newcastle brought on Wissa for Osula at 77' as they look to see the game out at 2-0.

Newcastle double their lead at Selhurst Park! After a VAR-chalked Willock effort and a flurry of corners, Barnes fires home from the centre of the box via Dedic's assist to make it 2-0 - Palace now have a mountain to climb.

Newcastle have the lead almost immediately after the restart - Murphy's cross from the right is turned home from close range by Osula to make it 1-0 against the run of play on the shot count. A sucker punch for Palace, who had been the more threatening side for much of the first half.

Not much to report early in the second half - the action has been confined to a couple of fouls near the halfway line, with Khalaili and Hall both penalised. The stats are barely moved from the break, Palace still shading possession and leading the shot count 8-4, so it remains goalless and finely poised at Selhurst Park.

Newcastle have grown into this spell, enjoying more of the ball and getting Barnes going on the left - he's had two efforts blocked in the last few minutes, while Burn also headed narrowly wide from a Hall free kick. Palace have been pegged back a little as fouls creep up at both ends, though McNeil did drag a shot wide from the left after a Pino assist. Still goalless at Selhurst Park with half an hour gone.

Palace have been by far the brighter side despite having less of the ball. Mateta twice went close early on, forcing a good save from Hornícek, while Disasi and Mitchell also had efforts blocked, and the Eagles lead the shot count 7-1. Newcastle have offered little going forward bar a blocked Osula effort, with Joelinton's foul on McNeil the latest break in play as Palace continue to press.
